A flower carved from white nephrite jade, its petals flared and softly ruffled, crowns this long bar brooch, with a small gold bead set at its heart. A leaf of textured 18K yellow gold curls up around its base, and beside the lip a marquise of green jadeite sits with a natural diamond below it. The long straight bar is 18K white gold and ends in an open ring of yellow gold holding gold leaves, a second jadeite marquise and more small diamonds; behind the bar, the brooch pin runs to a catch beside that ring. Untreated nephrite jade, carved flower 16.5 × 15.5 × 8.2 mm, 4.4 g. 18K yellow gold setting, leaf, ring and pin; 18K white gold bar; jadeite and natural diamonds.

FAQ
Nephrite or jadeite? Both are jade, and both are exceptionally tough. Nephrite is the tougher of the two, with a softer, quieter luster; jadeite is harder and glassier. Natural nephrite jade is the principal stone in every JIE JIANG piece; where a piece also carries jadeite, its product page says so. The species is written on the tag, and for high-value pieces a GIA identification report is available on request.
Does it change with wear? Physically, a little: nephrite is very tough but not scratch-proof, so years of daily wear can leave fine surface marks. It does not fade or change colour.
Water and sweat? Fine for hand-washing and rain. Take it off for pools, hot tubs and sport: chlorine and sweat wear on silk thread and metal findings rather than on the stone. Dry it before storing.
