Nephrite or jadeite?
Both are jade, and both are exceptionally tough. Nephrite is the tougher of the two, with a softer, quieter luster; jadeite is harder and glassier. Natural nephrite jade is the principal stone in every JIE JIANG piece; where a piece also carries jadeite, its product page says so. The species is written on the tag, and for high-value pieces a GIA identification report is available on request.
Does it change with wear?
Physically, a little: nephrite is very tough but not scratch-proof, so years of daily wear can leave fine surface marks. It does not fade or change colour.
Water and sweat?
Fine for hand-washing and rain. Take it off for pools, hot tubs and sport: chlorine and sweat wear on silk thread and metal findings rather than on the stone. Dry it before storing.
When will my order ship?
Complimentary US shipping on orders of $200 or more. All pieces are in stock and ship in 2–3 business days. All parcels ship insured.
Why might you contact me to verify my order?
We review every order before it ships. For Atelier pieces and orders of $2,000 or more, we contact you by email or phone, using the details you gave at checkout, to confirm the order and delivery address. For orders of $10,000 or more, we also ask to see an unexpired government-issued photo ID on a short live video call before payment is taken; we do not keep a copy. Both amounts apply to a single order or to your orders within any 30 days combined. If an order can't be verified and shipped by the end of the sixth calendar day after it was placed, we cancel it and release the payment authorization. We will never ask for your card number or passwords.
Can I cancel my order?
Within 24 hours of purchase, unshipped items can be cancelled directly from your account. After 24 hours, contact us through the contact page and we will cancel any order that has not yet shipped. Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled — returns are covered by the policy below. Final-sale pieces (Atelier commissions and one-of-a-kind) cannot be cancelled from your account — contact us and we will cancel any unshipped order.
What is your return policy?
Returns accepted within 7 days of delivery on unworn pieces with the security tag intact. Bespoke (Atelier), one-of-a-kind and engraved pieces are final sale. The full policy is linked in the footer.
Do pieces come with a certificate?
Every tag states the species and the nephrite's treatment, and every piece carries its own serial number. A GIA identification report is available on request for high-value pieces.
