Why our nephrite

Every stone is chosen twice — first at the counter of our own retail store, in daylight, against dozens of its kind; then in our own workshop, where seventeen years in the trade tell us which stones deserve the work. The nephrite that passes both is untreated, disclosed line by line in its listing, and made to be worn for a lifetime.

Craftsmanship

Our carving philosophy is balance, not ornament. Each design follows the stone it is given — its grain, its color, its structure — and keeps as much of the original material as possible. We work with the stone, never against it. That is how each piece arrives at a character of its own, and why no two are alike.

From stone to piece

  1. SelectionJudged in daylight, then judged again at the bench.
  2. CuttingThe stone is opened along its own grain.
  3. DesignEach form is drawn from the colour and structure the stone brings.
  4. CarvingRestraint over ornament — more stone is kept than carved away.
  5. PolishingStopped before the glow turns to glass.
  6. DisclosureThe nephrite's treatment stated, serial number assigned, the listing written line by line.

Bespoke — ATELIER

Beyond the six series stands ATELIER, our practice for private commissions: from selecting the stone, through design consultation, to carving and finishing — guided throughout by the same principle of following the stone's natural form. Every commission is one of a kind, and every commission is final sale.

Integrity

Our own workshop has spent seventeen years in the jade trade — which is what lets us hold every stage of production to a single standard. We would rather earn trust slowly, through consistent quality and plain language, than loudly, through big claims. Every piece can be accompanied by a report from an independent gemological laboratory; for high-value pieces, a GIA identification report is available on request, and you can verify it yourself.
