One stone of white nephrite jade, carved to a bangle that leaves the circle behind: four sides drawn almost straight, four corners melted round. The bar is full and smooth, the white unbroken the whole way round; on the wrist it sits wide and calm, its corners already halfway to a circle. Untreated nephrite jade, inner width 55.5 mm, 81.1 g. Bangle sizes are inner diameters. Bring thumb and little finger together and measure around the widest part of your hand, then match it in the size guide. Between sizes, take the larger.

Nephrite or jadeite? Both are jade, and both are exceptionally tough. Nephrite is the tougher of the two, with a softer, quieter luster; jadeite is harder and glassier. Natural nephrite jade is the principal stone in every JIE JIANG piece; where a piece also carries jadeite, its product page says so. The species is written on the tag, and for high-value pieces a GIA identification report is available on request.

Does it change with wear? Physically, a little: nephrite is very tough but not scratch-proof, so years of daily wear can leave fine surface marks. It does not fade or change colour.

Water and sweat? Fine for hand-washing and rain. Take it off for pools, hot tubs and sport: chlorine and sweat wear on silk thread and metal findings rather than on the stone. Dry it before storing.
